The Side of Male Porn Stars You Didn’t Know: MMA, Rum, Rapping and Modeling

Seriously that head-kick is freaking awesome...

We know them for their skill of the drill, the angle of their dangle, and while we envy male porn stars for their torrid sex lives, we sometimes forget that these dudes are more than just a moving phallus. In fact, some of the adult industry’s biggest household names have other professions where they’re even more notable. Here’s our list of guys who’ve broken big in the mainstream.

Ron Jeremy

I’d be remiss in excluding Ronald Jeremy Hyatt from any list, let alone one like this. Beyond being an absolute porn legend, “The Hedgehog”, as he’s been called, is a truly dynamic figure, a jack of all trades, one might say. Serving as a consultant for the 1997 film Boogie Nights, starring Mark Wahlberg, he’s also appeared in a number of Hollywood films, including Ghostbusters and The Boondock Saints. He’s also appeared on TV, in Chappelle’s Show and Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. If that wasn’t enough, he’s been in a number of music videos for artists like Sublime, Moby, and Mercury Rev. Beyond being an active media personality, Jeremy is a writer, with a memoir entitled: Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz, and a businessman. He markets his own line of rum, “Ron de Jeremy”. Perhaps a swig of the stuff, and we can all get a taste of Ron’s widespread success.

Aiden Shaw

One look at this guy, and it’s easy to see why he’s made it as a model. Distinguished in appearance, with a formidable silver fox thing going on, Aiden Shaw used to be gay porn’s superstar, but he’s made a serious return working for some of Europe’s fashion houses. He’s also had the distinction of having a character named after him in the hit TV show, Sex and the City. More than that, he’s a writer of fiction, with a highly-acclaimed work, Brutal, a poet, and a memoirist.

Simon Rex

Like Aiden Shaw, Rex has made a compelling career out of male modelling, working for big brands like Levi’s and Tommy Hilfiger. Though he began in the adult industry, performing in solo skin flicks, he’s also been an MTV Veejay, appeared on TV and in films, and, most notably, he’s a hip hop artist, responsible for his infamous alter-ego “Dirt Nasty”. Rex has worked with the now famous Riff Raff and Andy Milonakis.

Charles Dera

Famous for his portrayal of Donald Trump in Brazzers’ porn parody ZZ Erection, Dera is plenty more than a popular name in the business of adult entertainment. A devout practitioner of jujitsu, he’s tried his hand in mixed martial arts, entering the ring as an MMA fighter with a record of 2-2-1, and just in case you didn’t already know, he’s a former U.S. Marine. One thing’s for certain: this male star has had a staggeringly broad professional career.

When it comes to male porn stars, there’s often way more than meets the eye. Sure they put on impressive performances, showcasing their sexual feats for all to enjoy, but their talents are just as astonishing outside the bedroom, too.
